back again

Back after a long time. But as the saying goes, 'Better late than never' .
Last week has been hugely disappointing.Me and my partner (Murthy)
did not qualify in the BEQ 2008 prelims at Hyderabad. We missed by a
whisker. Our team and Google had a tie and Google went through. This
is only the second time that we have failed to cross the prelims. But
sometimes,these things happen.
The new Hyderabad airport (Shamshabad) is reasonably cool.
The only troublesome feature is the delay in baggage handling. Hope they
will overcome it soon.

Abid Ali

Hi all,Yesterday I had the good fortune of meeting Abid Ali,ex-Indian allrounder at Chennai airport.It was a pleasure talking to him.An unassuming man,he talked with great passion about his playing days.He is currently the coach of our Andhra Ranji team.I asked him about the commercialisation of the game these days and he said that it is a good thing because it is making the players richer.He had special praise for Chandra and Bedi and said that they could turn the ball on any surface.

tata crucible loss

Failed to win Tata Crucible title as usual. Rajiv Rai was in great form. Hats off to him for
winning the quizzing slam(BEQ & TC) this year. His team partners too deserve the same
praise. By the way, Prashant has won this year's Indian Idol. Oops,I am sorry, the phone company associated with the contest has won the grand prize. 7 crore SMSes in one week
to vote the champion, ufff, what money man!
